I just had 7 of the best photos I've taken in 3 years printed yesterday. Normally I've been content in just looking at them on my monitor and posting them in online galleries but now, looking at these 5x7.5 prints, I felt something stirring in me. I suddenly felt proud of my photos. I wanted to show them to everyone, to show them what I see through my eyes, to let them know how beautiful the world still is. This is what the first photographers must have felt, the joy of seeing a moment captured on a piece of paper. Monitors just do not give pictures justice.

So print your photos and let the magic begin.

I'm experimenting with photomapping using GIMP. It's easy to use yet produces eye popping photos. It's also easy to overdo the process, producing exaggerated photos.

My first DSLR

I went to Hidalgo yesterday to buy my first Dslr: the Nikon d40. It's the cheapest dslr at present (25,000 pesos) yet it still rocks. Sure I can use older nikon lenses with it, but I can make do.

Freedom Park Dog Meet

I strolled along the Freedom Park at U.P. Los Baños today and saw a large gathering of dog owners with their dogs. It turns out there's an infomal dog meeting every Sunday.
